1. Nature of the Service
Columbia Residents Directory is a privately operated reference to public indexes, record custodians, and directory collections for Columbia, Missouri. It does not host government records and is not affiliated with any Columbia, Boone County, Missouri, court, or library office.
2. Acceptable Use
Use the service only for lawful purposes. You may not use it or material reached through it to:
- Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm a person.
- Locate a person protected by a restraining or protective order.
- Commit identity theft, fraud, or deception.
- Make FCRA-regulated decisions, including credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
- Scrape, copy, or republish the content at scale.
- Interfere with the availability, security, or operation of the service.
3. No Consumer Reports
Columbia Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. ยง 1681 et seq. The reference and any linked result are not consumer reports and may not be used for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another FCRA-covered decision.
4. External Services
Government portals, libraries, and sponsored search providers have their own terms, prices, availability, and privacy policies. We do not control an outside service and are not responsible for its content, results, or data practices.
5. No Warranties
The service is provided as available and without warranties. We do not guarantee that a record description, coverage date, outside link, or search result is complete, current, accurate, or continuously available.
6. Liability Limits
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of this service or a linked resource, including choices made from an outside record.
7. Indemnity
You agree to defend and hold the operators harmless from claims, losses, and reasonable attorney fees that arise from your misuse of the service or violation of these terms.
8. Site Materials
The original writing, logo, design, and layout are protected by copyright. Linking to a page and quoting a brief attributed excerpt is permitted. Republishing full pages or systematically copying the material is not permitted.
9. Term Revisions
We may revise these terms by posting an updated version here. Continued use after publication means you accept the revision.
10. Access Restrictions
Access may be limited or blocked, without notice, when a user violates these terms or abuses the service.
11. Missouri Law
These terms are governed by Missouri law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Public-record requests described by this reference are subject to the Missouri Sunshine Law, Mo. Rev. Stat. ch. 610, including RSMo 610.023, 610.024, and 610.026. Those statutes do not change the independent access limits that apply to confidential records.
12. Severability
If one part of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining terms remain effective.
